EnglandvsIreland Legends Charity Rugby Match

On Friday, February the 26th, 2010 – the night before the Six Nations match between England and Ireland, at Twickenham – the English and Irish Legends, featuring some great names from the past, will be meeting in a special charity match at The Stoop, the home of Harlequins, just over the road from Twickenham.

The match is in memory of Stuart Mangan, and in aid of the Matt Hampson Trust and an Irish charity which has yet to be confirmed.

Stuart was just 26 when he passed away, on August the 7th. In April 2008, he’d suffered the worst possible spinal injury, while playing in a club match in London.

After spending seven months in hospital, he returned to his specially adapted flat in Bayswater, and resumed life. Like Matt Hampson, he never allowed his injury to affect his love for rugby and life- he was a proud son of Cork and Munster. Like Matt, he was always cheerful, positive, determined and forward-looking. When he died, suddenly and unexpectedly, he was full of plans for the future.

He and Matt had become close friends, and had often discussed doing some joint event, in aid of their respective trusts. The idea for this game was conceived, while Stuart was still alive.

Stuart’s family decided that the game should go ahead, as a tribute to him. They were also happy for all the funds to go to Matt’s Trust, but Matt wants to ensure that a similar Irish charity will also benefit.

Already, Munster, Ireland and Lions legend Mick Galwey has agreed to help get the Irish team together. It’s expected that similarly distinguished figures will be involved in forming the England side.

We aim to make this game a huge success – both to honour Stuart’s memory and to help Matt in his increasingly active life. He is a regular contributor to Rugby World, he coaches his local school and has recently acquired his grade 1 RFU coaching badge, and, perhaps most importantly, he is the first ever Ambassador for the RPA Benevolent Fund, which helps injured players.

Further details of the players involved, along with ticket information, will be published in due course. This event promises to be a great start to an international weekend, combining the onfield passion and ferocity and off-field camaraderie and craic we always associate with games between England and Ireland.

O'Neills Summer Tour Diary by BibleCodeSundays Drummer Carlton

Muswell Hill July 2nd
A sizzling hot summer Thursday night sees the Biblecodes return to the venue which hosted our all conquering defeat in last years battle of the bands but we don’t hold grudges- The pub is an old church and acoustically very challenging- a cavernous cathedral of sound plus a 2 candle lighting rig makes for a highly Gothic audio visual experience but the audience is receptive and kneel at the BCS altar.
The top brass are again out in force with Kirsty and Tessa waving pom poms as chief cheerleaders.
The Magners girls have to work hard dispensing their wares to quench the seasonal thirst. The lads deliver a rocking sermon and have them reeling in the aisles, the knave, the pews and the presbytery.
Aural obstacles overcome and all singing from the same hymn sheet in the end - a quiet North London star in the O’Neills constellation now shines brightly in the celestial gardens.

Solihull June 25th
And so to Solihull where the legs are long and the shorts are short- lets hear it for the girls as the lovely Laura leads the leggy bar team and makes sure the Magners Euro millions competition is fully entered.
It’s a lively night and the BCS boys give a punchy performance right between the eyes- Half way through the second half news filters through to the stage about the passing of Wacko Jacko- the lads pay tribute with their Jackson 4 set and search for the missing white gloves- The final curtain sees Pat heading for Glastonbury whilst the rest moonwalk back down the M40, Don’t blame it on the sunshine………………

Leytonstone June 18th
As Coleen announces on loose women that the Nolan’s are to tour again our own member of Ireland’s favourite musical dynasty continues to clock up the Magners air miles, and it’s “more squeeze please” as Andy pilots the BCS cabin crew into the jewel of East London’s crown.
The music room is large and round and needs the full pot of Celtic rock sandwich filler.
Boosted by superstar DJ Colm G the lads perform a full military parade to the assembled O'Neill's Junta, and it’s scrambled egg and high salutes to the access all area managers and dirty dancers.
Adam’s arrival means Ronan takes all the Rickenbacker glory and a case of Pear Magners is thrust upon the grateful prize winner Paddy Hughes.
Bingotastic all round and legs eleven and the 2 fat ladies finally clicketty click as house is called-
Time gentlemen please-

Bristol June 4th
All ship shape and Bristol fashion as the lads head into the heart of cider country - with Cherry at the helm we are the Magner’s nificent 7- It’s Thursday night and the crowd need coaxing and cajoling into their stride
But we woark hard on the heart strings and moneymakers are shaken and mojo’s twanged.
All in all it’s a good night with plenty of presence on the dance floor and good interaction between band and small but perfectly formed audience. All bodes well for a continuing summer of Magner’s musical mayhem- we know where you live !!

Wardour St, London May 31st
Sunday service and the first sitting at mass is quiet- the Pear Magners kick starts the gig and after an intimate first half the venue begins to swell pleasantly and stretches to full girth- The Biblecode brass section Rico and Paul are special guests and bolster up some of the funkier cuts from the Boots album.
There’s a squash of wild dervish dancing in front of the boys as they sport the drinking (responsibly) all day caps during a rocking second set- O’Neill’s parties on into the wee small hours with the troops marshalled by Captain Kirsty whilst the BCS armoured car trundles off into the soho dawn looking for bangers and mash-

Didsbury, Manchester May 30
We came, we saw, we Magner’d -
Members of the Biblecode cabinet flip their 2nd homes to take up summer residence in O’Neill’s.
20 million people tune in to Britain’s got talent but the Didsbury discerning turn out to kick off the
Tour and get up close with the music.
It’s a good crowd boosted by stags and hens and the BCS roosters cause havoc in the coop- a lively workout through the band favourites and a healthy sprinkling of top notch covers sees the super sized Saturday audience fully satisfied. Afterwards we do our sponsors proud with some internal product placement and chew the cud with Tessa and the O’Neill dignitaries. A top night- mad for it our kid .

A Big Thank You from the Boys!

After a very busy but very successful US tour The BibleCodeSundays would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone that helped to make it such a good trip.

"We made some great new friends and played to some fantastic audiences and we can't wait to do it again" said singer Ronan.

"A very special 'Tanx' has to be said to the lads from the Dropkick Murphy's who looked after us and played an amazing show themselves in Boston. They really made our St Patrick's Day"

The Boys of Queens Video Appeal

As you may already know our song "The Boys of Queens" on the "Ghosts of Our Past" album was written as a tribute to the FDNY FireFighters. We have recorded a brand new video for the song but it is not complete, we need high resolution footage Fire Dept related (especially related to the proud Irish tradition within the department). We need either still photographs or video footage to really make the final edit a fitting tribute to these brave men. We will be donating a percentage of any profits to a FDNY charity, we have been trying to contact the department directly but with no luck, we would very much like to speak to someone to work out the best way of going about all this
